HERMISTON, Ore.-Chipotle officially opened its doors at 1885 N. First Street, just off Highway 395 in Hermiston on November 21.
“We are excited to be part of the Hermiston community and serve our responsibly sourced, classically cooked real food, and establish new local partnerships,” said a Chipotle spokesperson.
A steady stream of diners moved in and out of the new Chipotle, part of a national chain specializing in made-to-order bowls, tacos and mission burritos, all day.
For Soly and Flor, two customers from the Hermiston area who have eaten at Chipotle in Tri-Cities before, the new restaurant is a welcome addition to Hermiston’s dining options.
“It’s good, the food’s always fresh,” said Soly. “I always get a bowl, but I mix it up every time.”
“We always try something new, he’s actually having the new Carne Asada,” said Flor.
Carne Asada protein and Red Chimichurri sauce are two of Chipotle’s newest offerings and are available now at the Hermiston location, according to the restaurant.
“Hermiston’s growing a lot and Chipotle’s a big improvement for sure, it’s good to see,” said Soly.
The Hermiston Chipotle offers inside and outside dining space, and features the brand’s signature Chipotlane, a drive-thru pick-up lane that allows guests to conveniently pick up digital orders without leaving their cars.
Cali and Francisco Reynosa of Hermiston also tried out Chipotle on opening day.
“We’ve been once before, but it’s been a while; it’s pretty good,” said Cali. “I got the Carne Asada bowl, and he got the burrito version.”
“I think it will be a good addition for Hermiston,” Francisco said of the restaurant. “It’s something new.”
Chipotle employs about 30 people at each of its locations, offering competitive benefits, including crew bonuses, a debt-free college degree program, and access to mental healthcare for employees and their families.

The Hermiston Chipotle is open daily from 10:45 a.m. until 10 p.m.
