James Richard Thompson of Hermiston passed away in Hermiston on Feb. 6, 2026 at the age of 87.
He was born on Dec. 1, 1938 in Hermiston to Joseph and Pearl Thompson.
James grew up and attended schools in the Hermiston area. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1964, where he was stationed in Germany.
He was married to Nancy Thompson who preceded him in death on June 5, 2017.
He is survived by a sister, Lillie, who resides in California, and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed!
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at the Hermiston First Christian Church, 775 W. Highland Ave.
