UMATILLA, Ore.-Work is now underway to collect data about the subsurface conditions beneath the Umatilla Marina.
A barge is expected to be in place in the marina from March 16 until March 31, as crews conduct geotechnical drilling and collect core samples.
The work is being done in partnership with a grant from the Oregon State Marine Board (OSMB) and is part of the long-term effort to plan for the future replacement of the marina, according to the City of Umatilla.
OSMB grant funding for the project includes a boating facility grant, waterway access grant, federal boating infrastructure grant, and federal clean vessel act funds
