Michael Springer, of Hermiston, Oregon, passed away on May 5, 2026, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease at the age of 71.
He was born on May 15, 1954, in Ashland, Oregon, to Leroy and Patricia Springer in Ashland, Oregon, where he grew up with two brothers and two sisters before the family moved to Pendleton, where he attended Pendleton High School and enjoyed wrestling and playing football.
Michael worked for Fleetwood for more than 25 years before later working at Keystone and was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his family. He worked in many different departments and in different roles throughout his career, always willing to work hard to provide for those he loved.
Outside of work, Michael found joy in the outdoors and loved hunting and fishing. Whether he came home with a catch or not, simply being in nature brought him peace. He also enjoyed sharing his knowledge of hunting and fishing with anyone eager to learn.
Michael’s many talents and hobbies included gardening, cooking and working with his hands, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends or neighbors.
Known by many throughout the community, Michael never missed a chance to stop and visit with those he knew, and his kindness, generosity and friendly nature left a lasting impression on everyone who met him.
Michael will be remembered as a hardworking, caring and dependable man who deeply loved family and friends, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
