HERMISTON, Ore.-Students throughout Northeast Oregon will start heading back to school next week.
With less than a week of summer left before students return to the classroom in several districts, here’s a look at when school starts around the region.
First Days of school 2026
- Baker School District: August 24
- La Grande School District: August 31 (K-7, 9), September 1 (8, 10-12)
- Athena-Weston School District: August 31
- Helix School District: August 24
- Pilot Rock School District: August 24
- Pendleton School District: August 27
- Echo School District: August 24
- Stanfield School District: August 31
- Hermiston School District: August 26
- Umatilla School District: August 24 (1-6), August 25 (Umatilla High School, 9-12), August 31 Kindergarten
- Milton-Freewater Unified School District 7: August 24 (1-6,9), August 24 Gib Olinger Elementary (K-3), August 25 (7-8, 10-12)
- Morrow County School District: August 31
A regional school supply drive this August allowed community members to donate classroom essentials at various businesses and organizations, including Good Shepherd Health Care System, Rogers Toyota, Sherrell Chevrolet, Boardman Pool and Rec Center, Hermiston City Hall, and more.
School supplies donated through August 19 will support students and districts throughout Northeast Oregon.
