Law enforcement officials are investigating a shooting in Hermiston Wednesday night – the second shooting in Hermiston in six weeks.
Hermiston Police Chief Jason Edmiston said this morning that a person was shot near 11th Street Market around 9:30 p.m.
“All I can confirm is that, yes, we have had a shooting – one person was shot,” the chief said. “We have activated the major crime team. Additional information, once we know it, will be released . . . in conjunction with the District Attorney’s office.”
There were no details about the victim or his or her condition at this time. Edmiston said his staff will meet with Umatilla County District Attorney Dan Primus this morning. No arrests have been made.
The Jan. 22 shooting took place in the same vicinity when a 21-year-old Umatilla man was shot near Foxwood Apartments. No arrests have been made in that case.
