Alena Brown Jensen passed away peacefully in her home on Aug. 3, 2020 at the age of 53, after a short battle with brain cancer.

She was born on Oct. 31, 1966 to Don Junior Brown and Naomi Lybbert in Moses Lake, Wash.

Alena loved growing up on their family farm in Echo. Alena graduated from Hermiston High School in 1985. She went on to attend cosmetology school at Paul Mitchell Provo. After she graduated with her cosmetology license, Alena lived in Provo, where she was introduced to her husband, Craig McKay Jensen. McKay and Alena were married on March 18, 1988 in the Manti, Utah temple.

Alena and McKay lived in Utah for the first few years of their marriage, and then moved to the Northwest, where they lived in Hermiston and Richland, Wash. Richland was where they raised their five children, Brooke, Kyle, Jenessa, Nicole and Hunter. Alena loved being a stay-at-home mom, cutting hair and renovating their home. After nearly 20 years in Richland, they moved to Saratoga Springs, Utah and recently moved to San Tan, Ariz.

Alena served faithfully as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life. She had a firm testimony and shared it continuously through her words and actions. She had a close relationship with her Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and lived her life by following promptings and trying to become more Christlike. Alena loved to serve others and was given many talents to bless those around her, including sewing, crafting, refurbishing, floral design and cosmetology. She loved sewing special dresses and sewed prom dresses for her daughters, wedding dresses for friends, and blessing dresses for her granddaughters.

She was a loving, faithful and compassionate mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend.

Alena is survived by her loving husband, McKay; children, Brooke (Michael) Lundquist, Kyle (McKell) Jensen, Jenessa (Kellen) Calaway, Nicole Jensen and Hunter Jensen; her six grandchildren, Luke, Piper, Eva, Cash, Addilynn and Scottie; as well as her siblings and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Alena was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Naomi.
