Applications for Amazon’s Eastern Oregon Community Fund Now Open

UMATILLA COUNTY, Ore.-Applications for Amazon’s sixth Eastern Oregon Community Fund are now open, with $175,000 in grants available for community-driven projects in Morrow and Umatilla Counties.

The Eastern Oregon Community Fund is part of Amazon’s commitment to support innovative programs that have a lasting impact in communities where Amazon has a presence.

“Amazon’s commitment to Eastern Oregon goes beyond infrastructure—it’s about supporting the people and ideas that make these communities thrive,” said Jorge Carrillo, Community Engagement Manager at Amazon.

Past recipients in Umatilla or Morrow Counties include, Martha’s House, Stepping Stones Alliance, Pacific Northwest Veterans Alliance, and many more.

Individuals, local community groups, schools, nonprofits and other organizations undertaking projects that positively impact the community are eligible to apply for grant funding.

“The Amazon Eastern Oregon Community Fund puts resources directly into the hands of local changemakers who understand their neighbors’ needs best,” said Carrillo.

Individuals and community groups are eligible to apply for Eastern Oregon Community Fund grants up to $5,000 this year, and nonprofits are eligible for grants up to $10,000.

According to Amazon, project themes for Eastern Oregon Community Fund grants include, sustainability and environment, health and well-being, Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEAM), future workforce development, economic development and leadership, inclusion, diversity and equity, and homelessness and hunger.

How to Apply

Amazon will host a virtual information session to help with the application process at 10 a.m. on January 22. Zoom Registration 

Applications for the Eastern Oregon Community Fund, managed by the nonprofit ChangeX, are open until February 16, 2026, with grants awarded to proposed projects based on funding criteria and the positive impact on the community, especially underserved populations.

Successful applicants will also be required to complete a 30-day challenge to solidify the idea of the project and take first steps.
