While jingle bells typically ring in the Christmas season, the rumbling of motorcycle engines also means Christmas is on its way, thanks to the annual Echo Toy Run.

A total of 121 riders on 89 bikes made their way to Good Shepherd Medical Center on Saturday as part of the 12th annual event. The brought toys to give to children spending the holiday season in the hospital.

Kelly Sanders, Good Shepherd Health Care System Vice President of Human Resources, was overwhelmed by the amount of toy donations given to the hospital. He thanked the bikers for their contributions and for braving the cold wet weather conditions.

The event is organized by community member Al Sells, who said he has a passion for making sure that kids in the community – no matter what their situation may be – know that there is a community behind them and encouraging them to get better.
