While the Boardman Farmer’s Market has been around for a couple of years, this is its first season as an official market, and it’s taking root outside the SAGE Center.

Market coordinator Lisa Ferguson said the market hoped to promote local farmers and businesses.

“We have a lot of artisans, a lot of crafters and hobby farms,” she said. “We try to pick from local businesses first, then we go to businesses in North Morrow County, then South Morrow and then from outside the county.”

Ferguson added that returning vendors from the market’s previous years get priority when it comes to the weekly event.

Taking place every Monday from 5-8 p.m. from Memorial Day to Labor Day, Ferguson said the weekly market keeps a pretty consistent number of vendors, averaging about 10 booths, with 15 to 16 vendors at most.
