Bulldogs Dominate Redmond, 62-14

The Hermiston Bulldogs celebrated Senior Night with an overpowering 62-14 win over the visiting Redmond Panthers Friday evening at Kennison Field.

The Bulldogs dominated right from the start of the game when the opening kickoff was returned 82 yards that set up an 8-yard touchdown run by Jonathan Hinkle, who had 122 yards rushing with three touchdowns.

On the very next possession, Dayshawn Neal scored on another 8-yard run to put Hermiston up 14-0 with just over 2 minutes left in the first quarter. Hermiston kept the pressure on to start the second quarter when quarterback Andrew James hit Luke Walchli for a 39-yard touchdown pass.

Hinkle score two more rushing touchdowns in the second quarter as the Bulldogs never looked back, scoring 34 points in the second quarter. James was able to rest in the fourth quarter, having completed 8-of-10 passes for 157 yards and three TDs.

The win improves Hermiston’s record to 6-2 overall and 5-1 in Special District 1. The Bulldogs will wrap up the regular season in Pendleton next Friday when they take on the Buckeroos.
