Celso De La Cruz of Hermiston died on June 25, 2026 in Hermiston at the age of 97.
He was born on April 8, 1929 in Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Florencio De La Cruz and Isabel Salinas.
Celso married Narcisa Trevino on Dec. 31, 1958 in Mexico. They moved to Hermiston in 1976, where he had lived since. Celso worked on various ranches and area farms. He enjoyed working with and training horses, playing pool and cherished time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, Eddie De La Cruz and his wife Gloria, San Antonio, Texas; daughter, Juanita Arellano and her husband Hector, Hermiston; grandchildren, Eddie Jr., Eloy, Alex, Jessica, Melissa, Alba, Kassandra and Hector Jr.; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Benigno De La Cruz; sisters, Elva Garcia, Leonila Elizondo, Delfina Trevino and Aurora De La Cruz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Celso was preceded in death by his wife, Narcisa De la Cruz; his parents; sisters, Ana De la Cruz, Imelda De La Cruz, Ofelia De La Cruz and Maria Garcia; and a brother, Cruz De La Cruz.
Services were held on July 2-3, 2026.
