Dale Fife Passes Away at 82

Dale L. Fife died on Jan. 21, 2026 at his home in Echo at the age of 82.

He was born on Jan. 28, 1943 in Ontario to Luther and Esther Fife.

Dale was raised and attended school in Echo, where he played football and basketball. He graduated from Echo High School in the class of 1961. Dale was united in marriage to Jerrie Denning on Aug. 21, 1962 at The Hitching Post in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. They have lived in Echo, where they raised their family and have been active members of the community since.

Dale worked for Union Local #701 until he retired. He was a member of the Stanfield Moose Lodge and enjoyed fishing, hunting and reading history books. Dale never knew a stranger, always willing to visit with a longtime friend or a new friend he just met.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jerrie Fife, Echo; sons, Kevin Fife (Kim), Echo and Trenton Fife, Hermiston; daughter, Gina Sather (Dennis), Echo; sister, Darrylin Collinsworth, Stanfield; brothers, Rod Fife, Spanish Forks, Utah and Terry Fife, Pendleton; grandsons, Kyle Fife, Devin Sather and Hayden Sather; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Travis Fife; and a brother, Brent Fife.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026 at 2 p.m. at Burns Mortuary Chapel, Hermiston.

Burial will follow at the Echo Cemetery.
