Residents interested in serving on the Hermiston City Council have until Aug. 27 to file for the November election.

The council’s four at-large seats are up for election on Nov. 7.

So far, only one person has filed – Jeff Keslo, technology director for the Hermiston School District. The four at-large seats are currently held by Doug Primmer, Nancy Peterson, Rod Hardin and Maria Durón. Primmer will step down from the council at the end of the year after being elected mayor in the May primary.

Applications and qualification information can be obtained at Hermiston City Hall.
