Investigators are continuing to look into the cause of an explosion in Pendleton Tuesday morning that killed one person and seriously injured two others.

The blast occurred at the former city hall building, 34 S.E. Dorion Ave., just after 8 a.m. on Tuesday. KEPR-TV identified the man killed as 25-year-old Eduardo Quezada. Part of the building, which now houses apartments and offices, was destroyed. The two people injured in the explosion were reported to be in fair condition at St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton.

Flames from the blast burned for more than an hour and police rerouted traffic. Several blocks lost power in downtown Pendleton.

Arson investigators were on the scene Wednesday looking into the cause of the blast.
