PENDLETON, Ore.-A couple of Division 1 Volleyball teams will take to the court in Pendleton on April 5.

Oregon State University and Boise State University will practice from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Pendleton High School Gym, then play a match starting at 1 p.m.

“Boise State’s been really good for a while and they’re in the thick of their spring schedule, while this is our first competition this spring,” said Abbie Wright, Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for OSU. “It should be a good matchup between two veteran rosters.”

The exhibition is part of OSU’s Spring schedule, that also includes stops at the University of Portland (April 12), Portland State (April 16), and the University of Washington (April 17).

“We were just starting to hit our stride at the end of last season,” said Coach Wright. “We’re looking to continue that upward trend this spring. We should be more experienced and consistent. This is probably the first year we haven’t had a lot of player turnover.”

Two First-Team All West Coast Conference (WCC) selections will return to the court for OSU this season in Outside Hitter Lauren Rumel, and Annika Hester, an Opposite Hitter.

Vivian Light is also back for the Beavers after being named to the 2025 U.S. Women’s National Team Open Program roster and expectations are high for incoming freshman Alana Marrs from Ellensburg.

Both the practice and match are free, and the community is invited to come watch these Division 1 athletes in action.

“It should be some really good volleyball,” said Coach Wright. “We hope to get a lot of people out there-we’re excited.”
