HERMISTON, Ore.-The community is invited to “drink pink” when they get their daily coffee on October 17 during The Human Bean’s annual Coffee for a Cure breast cancer awareness event in Hermiston.

October is breast cancer awareness month, and Coffee for a Cure is an effort to raise awareness and support for breast cancer patients and survivors.

“Coffee for a Cure is a great way for our community to come together and support one another,” said Brittney Beamer, owner of The Human Bean in Hermiston. “So many of us know someone who’s been personally impacted by breast cancer, which makes this day a truly heartfelt giving event.”

Coffee for a Cure is The Human Bean in Hermiston’s largest fundraiser of the year, and proceeds from all food and drink sales on October 17 will be donated to the Good Shepherd Community Health Foundation.

The Coffee for a Cure giveback program started in 2005, and Human Bean locations across the country have raised a combined $4.2 million for breast cancer causes, including patient services, such as mammograms, post-diagnosis support, and education.

To mark the 20th anniversary of Coffee for a Cure, The Human Bean will be offering special commemorative cups with artwork that incorporates the message of hope for breast cancer patients and survivors, and the Bright® Energy Pink Lemon-aid will be available throughout October.

Customers and supporters who “drink pink” on October 17 are encouraged to spread awareness by sharing their stories and photos on Instagram using #CoffeeForACure.

The Human Bean of Hermiston, located at 205 S Hwy 395, is open daily from 4:45 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
