Wow. Washingtonians had a Birdseye view. I literally didn’t want to look at it burning so I didn’t until just now. Yesterday the 20th, I took the bridge of the Gods then Cascade Locks to w/b I-84. I was hoping the news reports that seemed to be saying it wasn’t all that visible were correct. It was borderline horrifying. I no longer have any doubt the E/B closures are 100% legitimate in their duration. The amount of work already performed by the Forest Service, fire fighters, ODOT and other agencies is staggering. The amount of equipment in and around Cascade Locks blew my mind. Fields full of bulldozed trees stuck in my mind!
