Edwin R. Stevens Jr. of Hermiston passed away in Hermiston on April 28, 2026 at the age of 89.
He was born on Feb. 5, 1937 in Memphis, Tenn. to Edwin and Mildred Blankenbaker Stevens.
Edwin grew up and attended schools in Memphis, Tenn., where he graduated from high school. He then attended college in the Memphis area, where he completed his bachelor’s degree. He later moved to Wenatchee, Wash. He worked as a teacher in Cooley City, Wash. for several years. He then moved to Hermiston and worked for the Umatilla Army Depot. He then drove school bus and CareVan for the hospital in Hermiston.
Edwin enjoyed traveling, RVing to Alaska, square dancing and watching TV.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta “Lori”; son, Edwin Stevens III; daughter, Elizabeth Labar; grandchildren, Justin and Connor; brother, Bob Stevens; and several nieces and nephews and extended family members.
A gathering of family and friends will be announced at a later time.
