Elidia (Rodriguez) Ochoa died on Friday, Jan. 2, 2015 at Regency Hermiston Nursing Facility in Hermiston at the age of 73.

She was born April 13, 1941 at Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico to Enrique Rodriguez and Maria Barrientos.

Elidia graduated from Crystal City High School in Crystal City, Texas where she met her husband Rafael Ochoa. They were married on July 27, 1964. They lived in Washington state and then moved to Umatilla in 1970. Elidia worked at Lamb Weston for 27 years.

She was organized, strong, caring, responsible, independent, giving, always happy and generous. Her hobbies included: sewing, crafts, gardening, cooking(tortillas), bible study, watching soap operas, casino/bingo with her husband, spending time with her family, fishing with her husband, yard selling, shopping, collecting knick-knacks, watching sports with her family, and make-up – nail polish, lipstick, perfume and hair.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rafael Ochoa, in 2000; parents, Enrique &and Maria Rodriguez; three brothers, Leonardo, Henry andJohnny; sister, Clemencia; and other family members.

She is survived by her five children, Gracie, Angie, Rafael Jr., Ernesto, and Roy; sister, Maria Rivera; brother, Abel Rodriguez; eight granddaughters; three grandsons; five great-grandchildren; two on the way; and other family members.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Burns Mortuary Chapel in Hermiston. Burial will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery.
