HERMISTON, Ore.-The Greater Hermiston Community Foundation (GHCF) announced the recipients of 2025 Wilcox Family Endowment Fund grants on November 18.
Four organizations dedicated to youth sports, education, the arts, and veterans have been awarded $25,000 this year.
“We are proud to support programs that help young people in our community feel connected and supported,” said Alan Wilcox. “Each of these organizations plays an important role in building opportunity and strengthening our community, and we look forward to seeing their fruit.”
2025 Wilcox Family Endowment Fund grant recipients
- HEROS Sportsplex: To support the construction of an ADA-accessible restroom and the installation of additional safety lighting at the sportsplex
- Made To Thrive: Funding will help cover activity enrollment fees, apparel and equipment purchases, and tutoring/mentoring services for at-risk and low-income youth in the Greater Hermiston area
- Power House Theatre: Funding will underwrite three Stage to School performances and workshops for Hermiston elementary students as part of a new arts-education pilot project
- American Legion Post 37: Grant will help fund the construction of a storage building at the Hermiston Cemetery to store 500-700 U.S. flags for veterans’ graves on Memorial Day
Brothers John and Alan Wilcox established the Wilcox Family Endowment Fund in 2019 to provide annual grant opportunities to nonprofits serving youth. According to the GHCF, grants from the endowment fund focus especially on programs that benefit at-risk youth and expand opportunities for young people across the region.
The Wilcox Family Endowment Fund was established with the GHCF, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the quality of life in Hermiston and the surrounding areas. The foundation manages the grant application and selection process for the fund.
Nonprofits serving youth in Hermiston, Umatilla, Stanfield, Irrigon and Echo are encouraged to apply for the annual grants.
