The Hermiston Parks and Recreation Department will host a free Kids Fishing Derby on Saturday, April 5 at the McNary Ponds in Umatilla.
The ponds will be stocked with over 2,500 fish and some will be tagged for prizes. Children aged 2-11 can fish from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; adults can join the fun starting at 2 p.m. Parents are welcome to assist, but kids must reel in their own fish. There is a three-fish limit per child (keep or release).
