Marion “Georgia” Linn of Stanfield passed away on July 8, 2026 in Hermiston at the age of 81 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on Sept. 26, 1944 in San Diego, Calif. to Albert and Marion Scheid Czarny.
In her final days, Georgia – a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend – reflected on a life well lived and looked forward with peace to being reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Ron.
As a preteen, she moved with her parents to Silverton, where she would eventually meet and marry her high school sweetheart, Ron Linn. They shared 65 years together. Growing up, Georgia was known as a dependable big sister to her siblings, a fast berry picker in the neighboring fields, and a talented seamstress who often made many of her own clothes.
Georgia wore many hats throughout her life. She was a devoted mother and homemaker, as well as a partner in Ron’s crop-dusting business, where she managed bookkeeping and assisted with mixing and loading chemicals. After her children were raised, she returned to college to pursue nursing and went on to work for many years at Good Shepherd Hospital in Hermiston, where she cared for countless patients with compassion.
Georgia enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, quilting, and sailing adventures with Ron. She was especially known for her love of quilting and generously gave many of her beautiful, handmade quilts and baby blankets to family and friends. Over the course of her life, she created dozens – if not hundreds – of quilts that will continue to warm both homes and hearts for generations.
Above all else, Georgia treasured her family. Meals around her dining room table were filled with stories, laughter, and the delicious home-cooked food she prepared with love. Her quiet generosity, steady strength, and unwavering devotion to those she loved will be remembered always.
Georgia is survived by her son, Roy Linn; her daughter, Shelly Kent (Darryl); her brother, James Czarny (Betty); her sister, Linda Perkins (Ray); her grandchildren, Kandra Kent (Ryan), Kelsey Harding (Nathan), Anna Linn (Cody), Kyla Kent, Tyler Kent, and Riley Kent; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Scarlet, Owen, Willow, Kylo, Nora, and Zoey.
Georgia was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Linn; her parents, Albert and Marion Czarny; her brother, Frank Czarny; and her sister, Debra Lofdahl.
A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2026 at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hermiston.
