The Maryhill Museum of Art in Goldendale, Wash. is hosting the Festival of Fiber Arts on Saturday, Aug. 6.
Families are invited to the free event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to explore fiber art in all its forms.
Activities kick off at 10:30 a.m. with live sheep shearing. There will be artist demos and hands-on weaving, quilting, felting, spinning and carding throughout the day. Thirteen regional artists, who are part of The Exquisite Gorge Project II: Fiber Arts, will be constructing a 70-foot sculpture and talking about their work.
The event also includes a stash buster/builder opportunity, so guests can bring excess yarn or take some and start a new stash. For more information, call 509-773-3733 or email maryhill@maryhillmuseum.org.
