HERMISTON, Ore.- The Good Shepherd Community Health Foundation awarded $86,500 in scholarships to students pursuing health-related careers at a dinner on July 22.
Over 60 people, including Good Shepherd Health Care System (GSHCS) Administrators, Foundation and community members, attended the dinner provided by Good Shepherd Nutrition Services in honor of the scholarship recipients for the 2025-2026 academic year.
“The dinner was a celebration for our board members, donors and scholarship recipients,” said Liz Marvin, Executive Director of the Good Shepherd Community Health Foundation. “Nutrition Services did an amazing job providing delicious food.”
Scholarships were funded through the Dr. Roy Rasmussen Scholarship Fund, the Sallie Clemons Scholarship Fund, the GSCHF Scholarship Fund, and donors, including AWS, Bouten Construction, Tualatin Imaging, Goldman Sachs and GSHCS.
GSCHF scholarships support students in West Umatilla and Morrow Counties pursuing careers in healthcare and align with the Foundation’s mission of strengthening community health and well-being.
For the 2025-2026 academic year scholarships were awarded to current college students pursuing health-related careers, to GSHCS employees who wish to continue their education, and to graduating high school seniors.
“The dinner was an opportunity to build relationships with scholarship recipients, so that they know they’re supported, and their hometown is behind them,” said Marvin. “These scholarships represent our investment in the future of healthcare in our region.”
