Henry “Hank” Loyd Studer of Hermiston passed away at his home on March 14, 2026 at the age of 80.
Hank was born July 29, 1945 in Grant, Oklahoma to Semyon and Alcie Studer. Hank’s family moved to Arvin, California when he was a child, where he attended school and married his high school sweetheart, Betty Hood on June 3, 1966.
Hank and Betty lived in Lovington, NM and Vale, OR before moving to Hermiston in 1980. He has resided in Hermiston for the past forty-six years.
Hank worked as a truck driver for over fifty years, driving over two million miles without an accident before retiring from driving trucks around 2010.
Family was a very important part of Hank’s life, and he enjoyed spending time with them. His other pastimes included hunting, fishing, camping, boating and playing pool. He also enjoyed being a gate attendant at Lepage Park for several years. He was a longtime member of the Hermiston Elks Lodge, having served in several positions in the organization.
He is survived by his sons, Dale Studer and Kenny Studer & Holly; daughter, Debbie and husband John Smith; eight grandchildren, Dylan, Zachary, Danielle, Sierra, Chance, Grace, Kole and Teagan; seven great grandchildren, Maysen,, Hayden, Hollis, Maverick, Maddox, Kashlynn and Kasey; brother, Charles Studer; brother-in-law, Gary Hood; and several extended family members.
Hank was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-nine years Betty on June 23, 2025; parents, Semyon and Alcie Studer; sister, Virginia; sister-in-law, Linda; grandson, John Ryan Smith.
A Memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. on Saturday April 18, 2026 at the Burns Mortuary Chapel (685 W Hermiston Avenue Hermiston, Oregon), with burial to follow in the Hermiston Cemetery.
