UMATILLA COUNTY, Ore.-A Hermiston attempted murder suspect is back in custody after disappearing from court earlier this month.

Andres Gordillo was arrested in Pasco, Washington on the night of October 22, following a multi-agency effort involving the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office (UCSO), U.S. Marshals, and Pasco Police.

Gordillo, 22, of Umatilla, was on trial for attempted murder when he disappeared from Hermiston Circuit Court on October 7.

Gordillo was arrested in April of 2025 in Hermiston in connection to the shooting of a 49-year-old man in the arm.

According to the UCSO, Gordillo was granted a conditional release in June of 2026, and he was not in custody during his trial in circuit court on October 7 of this year.

Gordillo left the courtroom during a recess, got in a car and left before court proceedings were over.

An arrest warrant was issued for Gordillo when he failed to return to court and local law enforcement began a regional search for him.

Umatilla County District Attorney Dan Primus requested assistance from the UCSO, who in turn reached out to its partners with the U.S. Marshals Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force.

According to the UCSO, it works closely with the U.S. Marshals, with UCSO detectives and deputies serving on the Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force.

The car associated with Gordillo was recovered by Pasco PD on October 9.

Leads on Gordillo’s whereabouts led to a home in Kennewick and UCSO deputies and the U.S. Marshals set up surveillance on October 22.

Gordillo was identified by investigators and after he traveled to a home in Pasco, task force members coordinated with Pasco P’’s Street Crimes Unit to take him into custody.

Just before 5 p.m. on October 22, Gordillo and several other people left the home in Pasco and tried to drive away.

After a high-risk traffic stop, all the people in the car cooperated with law enforcement and Gordillo was arrested.

Gordillo is currently being held pending extradition to Umatilla County to face his original charges and possibly others.
