Hermiston Man Dies in Collision

A Hermiston man was killed Tuesday night in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Joy Lane and Sagebrush Road.

The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call around 8:30 p.m. with a report that one driver involved in the crash was unresponsive. According to the UCSO, the two vehicles involved, a Nissan Sentra and Hyundai Sonata, collided in the intersection. UCSO deputies performed life-saving measures on the driver of the Nissan, Brandon Scott Horn, 50, but were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The operator of the Hyundai Sonata, a 19-year-old female from Hermiston, was transported to Good Shepard Medical Center in Hermiston with unknown injuries.

UCSO, with assistance from the Oregon State Police, are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. The sheriff’s office said more information will be released as it becomes available.

The Stanfield Police Department also responded.
