A Hermiston man has been arrested and charged with a burglary of downtown business while another suspect remains at large.

Officers with the Hermiston Police Department responded around 4:39 a.m. Thursday morning to a burglary alarm at Andee’s Boutique on Main Street. When they arrived, the officers found the business had been burglarized and merchandise had been stolen.

HPD Capt. Travis Eynon said they received help from several neighboring businesses and by the end of the day, they had recovered a good portion of the property and identified two suspects.

On Thursday night, HPD officers located and arrested Landon Piel, 29, of Hermiston, on a burglary charge.

Eynon said by Friday morning, HPD officers had recovered most of the property from the burglary.

“There is still one male suspect who has not been located but we have identified him for now,” said Eynon.

“We do not have any reason at this time to believe this burglary is related to the rash of vandalism and burglaries perpetrated in close proximity to this business several nights ago,” he said.
