Hermiston man killed in hit-and-run near Hood River

HERMISTON, Ore.-Oregon State Police (OSP) are looking for potential witnesses after a hit-and-run left a Hermiston man dead in Hood River County.

OSP responded to the crash near milepost 66 on Interstate 84 in Hood River County just before 6 a.m. on April 26.

According to OSP, 24-year-old Hunter Miller, of Hermiston, was walking in the travel lane on I-84 when he was hit by a vehicle heading west in the slow lane near Hood River.

Miller died at the scene, and a black Harley-Davidson motorcycle was found several miles east of the crash; however, it is unknown if Miller was riding the motorcycle, according to OSP.

Traffic was affected for about two-and-a-half hours after the crash, and the OSP’s Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU), the specialized unit that investigates all deadly crashes on Oregon highways, is now investigating.
