UMATILLA COUNTY, Ore.-A Hermiston man is dead after a crash on Interstate 82 on the night of April 14.
Oregon State Police responded to the single-car crash near milepost 10 around 11:42 p.m. and found a Toyota 4Runner on its roof in the median.
The driver of the Toyota, a 35-year-old Hermiston man, was headed eastbound when he lost control on a curve, drove off the road and rolled down an embankment, according to the OSP’s initial investigation.
Umatilla County Fire District 1 and the Oregon Department of Transportation assisted the OSP at the crash site.
The driver died from his injuries at the scene. According to the OSP, he was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the car.
The Oregon State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is now investigating the crash.
