The Hermiston Police Department has identified the victim of a shooting early this morning as Erik Campos Navarrete of Hermiston.
Around 1:20 a.m. this morning, the Hermiston Police Department and other law enforcement agencies responded to a report of gunshots being fired around the 500 block of W. Hartley Avenue.
Officers located Navarrete, 26, with what HPD Chief Jason Edmiston said appeared to be “a significant wound to his head.” The victim was taken to Good Shepherd Medical Center by Umatilla County Fire District 1 paramedics before being transported to Kadlec Medical Center in Richland.
No arrests have been made and Edmiston said this investigation is “still very much active.”
