Quilters from the Grace and Mercy Lutheran Church in Hermiston crafted a total of 108 quilts to send to Lutheran World Relief, an organization dedicated to providing aid in emergencies around the world.

Included in the most recent shipment to Lutheran World Relief are school kits, personal care kits and baby care kits that have been collected throughout the year from the congregation.

The Grace and Mercy Lutheran quilters will begin their 2019 campaign in January and quilt through October in an effort to further aid Lutheran World Relief. The group meet every Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Hermiston to work and welcome anyone and everyone who wants to volunteer.

  1. Bethlehem Lutheran also has a quilt group that sends quilts to Lutheran World Relief, Agape house and Domestic Violence. The “Piecemakers” meet Tuesdays at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. All are also welcome to help. Thank you for sharing this information about such need and dedicated people.
