Hermiston's Warren Atwell Passes Away at 89

Warren W. J. Atwell died on June 15, 2015 at his home in Hermiston at the age of 89.

He was born on Nov. 1, 1925 in Scotia, Calif., to Stewart and Matilda Dutchman Atwell. Warren was raised in Eureka, Calif. He served in the United States Navy during World War II as an air radioman until his honorable discharge. Warren was united in marriage to Donna L. Chambers on March 23, 1963 in Reno, Nev. They lived in Beaver Creek for 3 years and later moved Northern California and then to Hermiston in 1975. He worked as a superintendent on construction projects for many years. Warren enjoyed trap shooting, camping, and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Atwell, Hermiston; sons, Michael Atwell, Osborne, Idaho, Bruce Atwell & wife Cathy, Hayfork, Calif.; daughters, Suzanne Atwell, Salmon, Idaho, Vicky Atwell, Middleton, Idaho, Peggy Ibarra, Hermiston, Laura Atwell, Hermiston, and Elaine Silva, Grant Pass; sisters, Anita Brazil, Fields Landing, Calif., Colleen Cruz, Eureka, Calif., Joan Golbov, Sparks, Nev.; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Dick Atwell.
