LA GRANDE, Ore.-Registration is now open for Investigators of Science, a STEM Day camp for middle school-age students at Eastern Oregon University (EOU) on October 25.

The Northeast Oregon Area Health Education Center (NEOAHEC) is partnering with EOU for the camp that allows middle school students to solve a mystery while exploring STEM subjects–including biology, chemistry, math, computer science, health and human performance, and psychology.

According to NEOAHEC, the Investigators of Science Day camp offers a full day of problem-solving and scientific exploration and is a fun way to engage students in Northeastern Oregon with STEM outside the classroom.

NEOAHEC is offering the Investigators of Science camp for $5 per student, and 100 spots are available. Applications are open until September 30 and can be completed online. Cash and check payments are accepted and will be collected on the day of the camp.

Originally known as Girls in Science, the day camp event, designed and led by EOU faculty and students has been held every fall for the past 25 years and has been recognized by the American Chemical Society.

Soroptimist International of La Grande provides annual grant funding for the camp and NEOAHEC is accepting donations to help offset the cost of meals and supplies.
