Jeffrey Lee “Jeff” Cady passed away on Feb. 16, 2026 just two days short of his 53rd birthday.

He was born on Feb. 18, 1973 the oldest of three children to Jody Lee Cady and Cindy Lorene Pettey Cady.

Jeff loved fast cars, adventures, biking, and most of all his family. He was a husband to Monica, father to Brandon and Derek, brother to Jason and Miranda, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He graduated from Hermiston High School in the class of 1991. Jeff traveled a bit after graduation, where he met his wife on a trip to Mexico. While in Mexico, he was a jack of all trades and master of none, he’d say. He got a small acting part on a Latino soap opera, he was a model for a Gold’s Gym brochure, and even made his way as an English teacher until they found out he didn’t have the credentials for it.

Eventually Jeff and Monica made their way to the Portland area, where they lived for the last several years and raised their boys. Jeff worked for Nautilus, aka BowFlex for 25-plus years before leaving the company around the time of the COVID chaos. Jeff then sold cars for a bit and had a few other side jobs through the years, but no matter what he was doing, he was a hard worker and always provided for his family. To know Jeff was to love him. If you knew him, you know he had his struggles but was always just a phone call away with his great since of humor. He always tried to lift others up while masking his own hardships. Jeff loved his collectibles, from the little things like Pokémon cards to his cars. He was the proud owner of a Skyline and a limited edition Nissan Z. Jeff had recently developed a great like for the music artist Hardy. He shared several songs over text with his siblings, who had both already been country fans.

Jeff will be missed by his family. There were so many things left unsaid and memories to still be made, but we’ll find comfort in knowing he is in a better place. With all that said, “Given Heaven some Hell.”

He is survived by his wife, Monica; sons, Brandon and Derek; brother, Jason (Denise); sister, Mandi (Pete); and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents; all grandparents; one aunt; and one uncle.

Jeffrey was cremated, and a private family gathering will be held later.
