Joanne I. Reeder Kosmos of Hermiston died on June 9, 2025 in Richland, Wash. at the age of 84.
She was born on Nov. 12, 1940 in Walla Walla, Wash. to William Herbert Reeder and Vernita Ellen Molstrom Reeder.
Joanne was raised in Pendleton, graduating from Pendleton High School. She married Tom Kosmos and they moved to Hermiston, where they had a farm and raised their family. She was a loving mom, grandma, sister, aunt and cousin.
She is survived by her daughter, Joanna Marikos and her husband John von Haas; sons, Demetrios Kosmos and Matthew Kosmos and his wife Tracey; brother, Donald Reeder; grandchildren, Joshua and wife Citlalli, Codey, Connar and Degan; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Kosmos; parents, Herbert and Vernita Reeder; and a brother, Raymond Reeder.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 15, 2025 from 2 until 4 p.m. at Burns Mortuary Chapel, Hermiston.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Olney Cemetery, Pendleton with a reception to follow at Roosters Restaurant at 11:45 a.m.
