Larry Dale Zumwalt of Pendleton died on Nov. 15, 2025 at home surrounded by his family at the age of 75.
He was born on June 16, 1950 in Prineville to Dale and Helen Wayland Zumwalt.
Larry loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He adored his family and was a loving husband, great dad and an awesome grandpa. Larry was always on the search for good deals, good food and a car he could buy and resell for a profit.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara King Zumwalt; children, Shannon Zumwalt Krausert (Bruce), Jeremy Zumwalt, Bryon Zumwalt (Julie), Kaylee Mayeux (Theron) and Casey Zumwalt (Christine); sister, Kathy Zumwalt Smith (John); 11 grandchildren, Helen Lewis (Ben), Delaney Fiocchi, Ivy Mayeux, Kyndra Zumwalt, Damien Zumwalt, Ruby Mayeux, Tana Mayeux, Ravi Mayeux, Luna Zumwalt, Wilder Zumwalt and Willow Zumwalt; three great-grandchildren, Laura Lewis, Raegyn Lewis and Josefine Lewis; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Melissa Zumwalt Fiocchi; and a brother, Ron Zumwalt.
It was his wish to have his service at the veterans’ shelter at the Hermiston Cemetery, so his wish will be honored on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025 at 3 p.m.
Larry loved potlucks, so a potluck will follow the service at the Stanfield Community Center, 225 W. Roosevelt Ave., with an opportunity to share memories and stories.
