Pendleton Round-Up and Happy Canyon Let’er Buck Run on July 4 is turning pink this year.

The 2015 5K Let’er Buck Run will benefit the 10th annual Tough Enough To Wear Pink (TETWP) campaign, which raises funds and awareness for two local cancer support programs.

Registration for the Let’er Buck Run is now open. Participants can register online this year or pick up a registration form at the Round-Up store, Pendleton Chamber of Commerce, Club 24, Roundup Athletic Club or Dean’s Athletic. Paper registrations should be dropped off or mailed to the Round-Up store, PO Box 609, Pendleton, OR, 97801.

Registration is just $25, and those who register by June 19 will get a free T-shirt. Those who register after June 19 can still purchase a T-shirt for $15, and a limited number ofT-shirts will be available the day of the run for that price. Participants can also register the morning of the run from 7-7:45 a.m. Runners should check-in at the ticket booth near the bucking horse statue in front of the Round-Up Grounds.

Runners are asked to wear pink to show their support for TETWP. In addition to prizes for age categories, the 5K race will also award prizes for the best man and best woman dressed in pink. Be sure to stay after the race and join the TETWP entry in the Pendleton Fourth of July Parade at 10 a.m.

In addition to the Let’er Buck Run, TETWP will also host the annual 1K Dash’n’Splash for children ages 3-11. Participants will receive a free admission pass to the Pendleton Aquatic Center, as well as a slice of pizza and soda after the race, courtesy of Big John’s Pizza. Early registrants (those who register by June 19) will also receive a t-shirt and goody bag. Registration is just $15.

The 10th annual TETWP event on Thursday, Sept. 17, not only raises awareness of breast cancer to the thousands of visitors who come to Round-Up, but 100 percent of the proceeds stay right here in our community. The two organizations benefiting from the TETWP campaign help local breast cancer patients from time of diagnosis through recovery from the cancer experience. The Kick’n Cancer program provides free massage, personal training and Pilates classes for recovering patients, while the CHI St. Anthony Cancer Care Clinic provides breast prosthetics, mastectomy bras, post-op camisoles, lymphedema sleeves, pads and gloves, mastectomy swimwear, wigs, financial help and mileage reimbursement for cancer patients.

The Pendleton Round-Up Association’s TETWP campaign will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2015. Anyone interested in serving as a 2015 TETWP sponsor can contact Casey White-Zollman, cmwzollman@gmail.com, or Jill Gregg, jill.c.gregg@gmail.com.
