Linda Kay Town died on July 31, 2026 at her home in Boardman at the age of 81.
She was born on July 13, 1945 in Wendell, Idaho to Frank and Blanche Wolfinbarger Messenger.
Linda was raised and attended schools in Jerome, Idaho. She moved to Boardman in 1977 and worked as a trim lead for Conagra until she retired. Linda then worked for a time at the Dodge City Inn.
Linda enjoyed trips to Wildhorse, camping, a good scratch ticket and a cold beer and cherished spending time with her family and friends. She was a longtime member of the Lions Club and the Eagles Lodge. Linda was a very caring and loving person who was always willing to help someone and do her best to make them feel better.
She is survived by her daughter, Charlene Baker and her husband Dale, Boardman; sister, Loretta Lewis, Jerome, Idaho; grandchildren, Zachary, Andrew and Dannielle; great-grandchildren, Reese, Rachel, Meier and Charly; stepchildren, Mick (Gina) Town, Washington, Paul Town and Katie Sargent, North Dakota, and Angie (Mark) Wells, La Grande; step grandchildren, Ashley Hobart, La Grande and Victoria Town, Cape Coral, Fla.; along with numerous other step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her son, Charles “Guy” Dickinson; her parents; and her brother, Clyde Messenger.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026 at 10 a.m. at the Riverview Cemetery, Boardman.
