A Walla Walla man was sentenced to 25 years in prison Wednesday for sexual crimes committed against a 6-year-old Pendleton girl.
Jason Dean Green, 28, was sentenced by Umatilla County Circuit Court Judge Christopher Brauer after he pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree rape, one count of first-degree sodomy and one count of first-degree luring. Green was indicted for the crimes by a Umatilla County grand jury on April 3.
The case stems from allegations leveled against Green in November 2013. The Pendleton Police Department began what Umatilla County District Attorney Dan Primus called a “complex and lengthy investigation.”
Green initially denied the allegations, but a five-month investigation conducted by Pendleton and Walla Walla police officers led to his arrest on Nov. 1, 2013. Green pleaded guilty to the charges on Wednesday.
His sentence of 25 years in prison without the possibility of parole includes lifetime post-prison supervision and he must register as a sex offender upon his release. He will also have to complete a sex offender treatment program after his release.
