MISSION, Ore.-The Wildhorse Foundation recently announced grant awards totaling $353,606 for the fourth quarter of 2025.
A total of 25 organizations across Northeastern Oregon and Southeastern Washington were awarded grants ranging between $2,000 and $30,000 for projects concerning public health, public safety, arts, education, environmental protection, cultural activities, and salmon restoration, according to the foundation.
Northeast Oregon organizations receiving Wildhorse Foundation grants
- Pacific Northwest Veterans Alliance, Hermiston: $20,000 for Eastern Oregon Veterans Emergency Assistance Project – Rapid Response & Stabilization
- Boardman Fire Rescue District, Boardman: $30,000 for a BFRD helicopter landing pad
- Echo Heritage Association, Echo: $7,876 for Protecting Echo’s Treasured Resources Involving Cultural Heritage or Research – PETRICHOR
- Maxville Heritage Interpretive Center, Enterprise: $30,000 for MHIC Historic Building Renovation
- Milton Freewater Valley Ambulance District, Milton Freewater: $15,000 for updated radios
- Umatilla Tribal Police Department, Pendleton: $15,750 for Umatilla Tribal Police Canine
- Mary’s Outreach, Pendleton: $10,000 for Outreach Vehicle Replacement
- Pendleton Cultural Foundation, Pendleton: $2,000 for 2026 Sister City Cultural Exchange
- InterMountain Educational Service District, Pendleton: $11,600 for Playworks, the Power of Play
- Historic Rivoli Theater Performing Arts Center Restoration Coalition, Pendleton: $30,000 for Rivoli Theater Phase 2 Construction
- Cat Utopia, Pendleton: $12,000 for Spay/Neuter & Rescue Transport Van
- Blue Mountain Community College, Pendleton: $5,500 for 2026 BMCC Spring Celebration Powwow
- Compost Casa, Lexington: $9,500 for Waste Isn’t Waste: School-to-Soil Shredding + Compost Handling Equipment
- Special Olympics Oregon, Union County, Elgin: $4,000 for Special Olympics Oregon – Union County
Three Oregon-based organizations also recently received Rapid Response Grants (RRGs), designed to help with financial needs throughout the year.
According to the Wildhorse Foundation, The Blue Mountain Humane Association in La Grande, Milton-Freewater Breadbasket in Milton-Freewater, and Oregon Coast Youth Symphony Festival in Newport, each received grants of $1,500 or less.

The Wildhorse Foundation is a community fund managed by the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation in partnership with Wildhorse Resort & Casino that makes grants available to eligible nonprofit, government, and Tribal organizations within the homeland area of the Cayuse, Umatilla, and Walla Walla people.
Wildhorse Foundation grants are awarded quarterly, with deadlines of January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1.
