OSP Release Photos of Suspect Vehicle in August Fatal Hit-and-Run

The Oregon State Police have released images of a vehicle believed to be involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident in Hermiston in August.

The fatal accident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Aug. 31 on Highway 395 near milepost 4A.

OSP investigators were able to obtain still video surveillance images of the possible suspect vehicle while it was in the parking lot of Rocket Mart along Highway 395.

This is the bumper of the vehicle that is suspected to be involved in the accident.

The victim was Antonia M. Cobarubias, 41, of Hermiston. According to the OSP, she was pushing a shopping cart northbound when a red car struck him from behind. Cobarubias sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car did not stop, but several pieces of the vehicle were left at the scene. The OSP believes the car to be a 1994-2001 Acura Integra and is missing a passenger side mirror.

OSP is requesting anyone that can identify the vehicle from the photographs or was in the area of Rocket Mart on Aug. 31 at about 2:30 a.m., to call OSP at *OSP.  Callers can reference case number SP19-313012.
