PENDLETON, Ore.-Pendleton Parks and Recreation will be offering its comprehensive Summer Adventure Camp series again this year thanks to a grant from the Roundhouse Foundation.

“We are really grateful to the Roundhouse Foundation for providing short-term support for our summer camp program as we work on longer-term strategies to address recreation program funding,” said Liam Hughes, Pendleton Parks and Recreation Director.

Pendleton Parks and Recreation announced the $15,000 in grant funding from the Roundhouse Foundation, a private family foundation based in Sisters, Oregon, on May 28.

The Adventure Camp series, which costs about $150 per child to run, according to Pendleton Parks and Recreation, was in jeopardy due to rising costs associated with insurance, supplies and staffing.

Pendleton’s Summer Adventure Camps typically serve 70-90 families per week, providing fun summer childcare for youth in kindergarten through sixth grade.

Families are charged $90 for the program, with the remaining $60 subsidized by Parks and Recreation and through grant funding, according to a City of Pendleton press release.

“This program is relied upon by a large number of working families in Pendleton to provide high quality, reliable child care at an affordable price,” said Hughes.

Pendleton’s 2025 Summer Adventure Camp will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, from June 16 to Aug. 15.

Registration for Summer Adventure Camp is now open and available online.
