The Stanfield Police Department is investigating the death of a 6-year-old Stanfield child.
According to the Stanfield Police Department, officers responded to a report of an unresponsive child in Stanfield just after 12 noon on Saturday.
Umatilla County Fire District #1 personnel responded and performed life-saving measures but were unable to revive the child, according to the police department.
The cause of the child’s death is not known, but the police said there were no signs of foul play.
Umatilla County Medical Examiner Dr. Rudy Stefancik and the Umatilla County District Attorney’s Office were notified. A sheriff’s office chaplain was called to scene to assist the family.
