SALEM, Ore.-The Oregon House of Representatives honored graduates of the class of 2025 who have enlisted in the military on June 11.
Six recent Hermiston High graduates, representing graduates from across the state who have enlisted, participated in the ceremony.
Eastern Oregon was well represented at the ceremony, with Isaac Insko of La Grande, who serves as Rep. Bobby Levy’s Chief of Staff, singing the National Anthem, and remarks from Rep. Greg Smith of Heppner.
“Today I want to acknowledge the Oregonians from the Class of 2025, and especially six fine young citizens from District 57, the City of Hermiston and Hermiston High School, who have chosen to serve you by enlisting in our military,” said Rep. Smith.

“Graduates, may each of you go forward with the knowledge that this legislative body admires you, we thank you, we congratulate you for your choice to enlist in the armed forces of the United States of America,” Rep. Smith said. “Today we celebrate your decision to serve our country, may God be with you until we meet again.”
While the six Hermiston graduates present at the Capitol represented students statewide who have enlisted in the military, graduates from other Eastern Oregon schools will also be serving.
- Riverside High School: 1 member of the Class of 2025 enlisted
- Umatilla High School: 3 members of the Class of 2025 enlisted
- Heppner High School: 2 members of the Class of 2025 enlisted
- Stanfield High School: 1 member of the Class of 2025 enlisted
- Hermiston High School: 12 members of the Class of 2025 qualified for enlistment to one of the military academies
- La Grande High School: Members of the Class of 2025 enlisted in the Army, Army National Guard, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force
- Pendleton High School: 8 members of the Class of 2025 enlisted
