Reservations for the 16th Me and My Prince Ball can be made online starting Monday, April 17.

The father-daughter dance will be held May 20 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Eastern Oregon Trade and Event Center in Hermiston. Admission is $20 per person.

This is the last year the ball committee will organize the event before Hermiston Parks and Recreation begins hosting annual father-daughter dances in 2024. To mark the occasion, the ball will be attended by two special guests, Belle and The Beast, in keeping with the ball’s theme, A Tale as Old as Time.

“We are excited to have Belle and The Beast at the ball this year,” said Michelle Kane, speaking on behalf of the Me and My Prince Ball Committee. “We hope that our guests enjoy meeting them, in addition to the other memories that they will make together.”

Kane added that space at the event is limited and is expected to sell out fast.

The Me and My Prince Ball Committee has partnered with United Way of the Blue Mountains to host the father-daughter dance.

“United Way has made it possible for our guests to make reservations online, rather than buying tickets,” explained Kane. She added that guests who need to pay with cash or check should still use the site, and then follow the instructions provided to make their payment.

Admission to the ball includes a 5×7 portrait taken by 60 Minute Photo for each girl, refreshments, use of a photo booth, and a corsage or boutonniere, which will be provided at the event.

The Me and My Prince Ball is a formal/semi-formal dance for girls of all ages in the community and their fathers/father figures. Kane explained that the purpose of the event is to “strengthen healthy father-daughter bonds so that girls will be more likely to become confident and strong individuals.”
