Ruben Ramirez Jr. of Hermiston passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025 in Portland at the age of 64 surrounded by those who loved him.

He was born on Aug. 13, 1960 in Raymondville, Texas.

In the 1970s Ruben relocated with his family to Hermiston, where he began a lifelong career in the trucking industry hauling agricultural products across the region. It was in Pasco, Wash. that he met the love of his life. Together, they shared 45 beautiful years of marriage, building a life grounded in love, family, and hard work.

Ruben was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He and his beloved wife, Dolores Ramirez, raised three sons while carrying the memory of a fourth who was called to heaven before him. Though deeply missed, his presence was always felt in their hearts.

Known to all as a kind and generous man, Ruben was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. His warm heart, unwavering work ethic, and joyful spirit left a lasting impact on everyone he met. Whether cheering for his favorite football team, firing up the grill for a backyard barbecue, or sitting at the poker table with his signature smile, Ruben had a gift for bringing people together. He was truly the life of the party. His legacy of love, kindness, and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew and cherished him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dolores; sons, Mario Ramirez, Ruben Ramirez III (Joanna), and Justin Ramirez (Nichole); and eight grandchildren who were the light of his life.
