HERMISTON, Ore.-United States Senator Jeff Merkley (D) will host a Umatilla County Town Hall at Hermiston High School on April 12.
The Umatilla County Town Hall is one of 11 that Sen. Merkley plans to hold across Oregon throughout April as part of his ongoing efforts to host community conversations in each of the state’s 36 counties.
“These direct community conversations also provide respectful, safe spaces for people to express their unique points of view and open folks up to new perspectives—essential to healing divisions and moving our state forward together,” Sen. Merkley posted on April 4 in regard to his latest town hall schedule.
Sen. Merkley’s Umatilla County Town Hall will be held in the commons of Hermiston High School at 10:30 a.m.
Sen. Merkley will provide updates on his work in Washington, D.C. and will also take questions from the audience at the town hall, according to his website. Attendees are invited to share their suggestions about the challenges facing Oregon and America at the event.
“There is nothing like holding town halls directly in the communities where Oregonians live and work to get to the heart of the ideas, issues, and priorities that matter most to them,” said Sen. Merkley.
Town halls are free and open to the public. Hermiston High School is located at 600 S. 1st Street.
