Jerry E. Street of Irrigon died on Oct. 24, 2016 in Richland, Wash., at the age of 75.

He was born on Dec. 13, 1940 in Memphis, Tennessee to Emmett and Genevieve Corley Street. Jerry was raised and attended schools in Black Fish Lake, Arkansas. He worked as a heavy equipment painter for a short time before entering the United States Army, serving as a chemical weapon specialist and a fork lift operator. Jerry was united in marriage to Kathleen E. Estes on August 30, 1967 in Irrigon. They lived in West Memphis, AR and later Marion, AR before moving to La Grande. They lived in La Grande for 32 years and Jerry worked for Boise Cascade. In 2007 they moved to Irrigon where they have lived since. Jerry was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, watching Nascar, woodworking, and old cars. Jerry cherished time spent with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years: Kathy Street, Irrigon, OR; sons: Lou Street & his wife Tina, Boardman, OR, William Street, Portland, OR, and Dennis Street, Arkansas; sisters: Martha, Norma, & Joyce, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers: Charles, Joel, Paul, & Carl; sisters: Mary, Doris, & Christine.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Family Worship Center, 330 NE 8th St., Irrigon.

Burial with military honors will follow at the Desert Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Irrigon.
